FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a horse from a river this afternoon (Thursday, September 17).
The incident happened shortly after 1pm and saw Humberside Fire and Rescue Service crew members wear water rescue gear.
The horse, which was in the water at West Butterwick, was sedated by a vet before being rescued by the firefighters.
As well as the water rescue gear, they used strops, GP lines, a lead-out boat and animal rescue equipment.
The horse was then left in the care of its owner.
