SCUNTHORPE MP Nic Dakin said the news that there will be 900 redundancies at Tata Steel's Scunthorpe plant is "devastating" for workers and their families. Tata Steel announced this morning they will cut 1,200 jobs across sites in Scunthorpe and Scotland and stop production of steel plant, blaming a flood of cheap imports, a strong pound and high electricity costs.
