TATA Steel workers from Scunthorpe today stepped up the pressure on the government to save their jobs by joining colleagues from around the UK in a lobby of Parliament.
Anger mounted among the protestors after it was revealed the Ministry of Defence had awarded two contracts, worth around £3.9 billion, to a Swedish producer to supply steel to build three new ships for the Royal Navy and for 589 armoured vehicles.
