BUSINESS secretary Sajid Javid has been urged to press for immediate European action on Chinese steel imports.
Mr Javid was among the ministers who attended an EU summit on the crisis in the steel industry in Brussels yesterday (Monday, November 9).
He was told by industry body UK Steel to "spearhead immediate European action" following the recent announcements of thousands of steel job cuts.
They include 900 jobs under threat at the Tata Steel works in Scunthorpe.
