REPORTS suggest the Tata Steel works in Scunthorpe could be given away.
Last week the company's European chief Karl Koehler said the Long Products division - largely based in Scunthorpe - must be sold by the end of March.
It prompted fears the site may close if no buyer can be found.
However, it has since emerged that some businesses are interested in taking over.
