An application seeking outline permission to build new homes near the A18 has been rejected by North Lincolnshire Council.
Plan It Design Ltd, from Newark, applied to develop at Old Railway Sidings near the A18 in Althorpe.
It also wanted approval for an access road.
But the council refused to give the go-ahead, saying the scheme would be inappropriate development outside an established settlement boundary.
