SCUNTHORPE United chairman Peter Swann hopes building work on the club's new stadium can begin in the new year.
Work on the 12,000-capacity project has been delayed with the Iron chairman citing factors out of the club's control.
Swann said developers Lucent still need to obtain the land on which the stadium is to be built – which is just up the road from the club's current base at Glanford Park.
Only when that happens can the club then, in turn, buy the land from Lucent and commence...
