THE chief executive of Tata Steel Europe has welcomed news the European Union has given the go-head for the UK to give tax relief on electricity costs.
The compensation package is said to be worth around £45 million a year to the UK steel sector and Scunthorpe, which has the biggest works in Britain, can expect major benefits.
