Scunthorpe steel and Scunthorpe expertise constructed a stand at Stamford Bridge from which many fans will watch today's big FA Cup clash between Chelsea and Scunthorpe United.
The contract for the east stand in 1973 involved more than 800 tonnes of steel, fabricated at the Scunthorpe workshops of Redpath Dorman Long, a major British Steel construction subsidiary.
The new stand was more than 100 yards long and 100ft high, with seating in three tiers for 12,000 fans, plus bars and toilets.
