SCUNTHORPE United have paid tribute to a former youth player who died after reportedly collapsing during a football match.
According to the Doncaster Free Press Richard Hawcroft suffered a suspected heart attack during a match on Sunday (July 26).
The 31-year-old, who played for Real Bridge, is said by the Free Press to have been attended to at the scene by paramedics and taken to Northern General Hospital, Herries Road, Sheffield, where he died.
