Scunthorpe's Riddings estate has seen many changes down the years.
Building started in 1951 and seven years later there were 710 occupied council houses.
The borough council then applied to borrow £221,405 to build a further 156 homes and 30 garages on the estate.
At that time a housing official revealed that when the development was finished, there would be between 1,300 and 1,400 Riddings homes.
