MORE than £1m is spent each year picking up rubbish, emptying bins and cleaning streets across North Lincolnshire, it is claimed.
In the past few years the problem with littering and fly-tipping in the area has slowly increased with North Lincolnshire Council issuing 24 fixed penalty notices - five of which were given to pedestrians and the rest to drivers for littering from their vehicle.
