TWO of the UK's best-known national chains have dealt a double blow to Scunthorpe High Street, with the loss of almost 50 jobs.
A closing down sale will go ahead at the
massive BHS store in the Parishes, after news broke of the national chain's demise. The company moved its large Scunthorpe store, opened in 1960, into the Parishes in 2011 and currently has 40 staff working there – all will lose their jobs.
