TATA Steel bosses have assured Scunthorpe's 4,000 steelworkers the company will continue to seek a sustainable future for the Long Products business, following the decision of the Klesch Group not to buy it.
Yesterday Klesch said it would not be purchasing the Scunthorpe business, blaming rising energy costs in the UK and Chinese imports for the change of heart.
