NORTH Lincolnshire is set to experience a rare Spitfire spectacular tomorrow (Thursday, August 13) to honour the 75th anniversary of an important Second World War battle.
Up to 13 Spitfires will fly across the area to recognise those who lost their lives on August 13, 1940 in Operation Eagle – a German operation aimed at destroying the Royal Air Force (RAF).
The planes will flying in three sections - over the Humber Bridge for 4.03pm, and reaching Scunthorpe at 4.49pm and 4.44pm.
