A HAVE-a-go grandmother tried to stop a hooded robber stealing the takings from a Scunthorpe newsagents on Monday, March 20.
Mother-of-three Linda Ellis was dragged to the floor when she grabbed the thief trying to make his getaway after he stole a tin containing around £300 from behind the counter of Ellis Stores, Cottage Beck Road.
The incident happened around 8.40pm, 20 minutes before the shop was due to close.
