PLANS to create a zoo in the Scunthorpe area have been rejected by councillors.
Iain and Alexandra Gouldthorp were seeking the go-ahead for a petting zoo with cafe, parking and access for the proposed location on the Grange Park Aquatics Site on Butterwick Road, Messingham.

DRIVER ALERT: Section of A18 to get 20mph limit for 6 months
A 20mph speed limit is to be introduced on a busy section of the A18 in North Lincolnshire.
The temporary restriction will be in place for six months - from February 29 until September 3 - at Barnetby Top.
North Lincolnshire Council says the 20mph limit is being introduced in the interests of road safety while a new roundabout is being constructed.

Thieves stole a dumper truck and an excavator from a Tesco car park in North Lincolnshire.
Humberside Police are appealing for information after a variety of plant machinery was stolen from a construction site in Brigg at a store which is owned by Tesco but about to be leased to B&M.
