25k loan funds town's Central Park
SCUNTHORPE people who enjoy visiting Central Park should perhaps raise a glass to the foresight of councillors who were in power during the mid-20th century.

JOHN WATSON , 31, of Caenby Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order. He was committed to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to comply with a 16-week curfew requirement. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and costs of £300.

Reaching new heights and a route to work - all thanks to CatZero
A MAN who was afraid of heights has overcome his fears by taking part in the Scunthorpe's CatZero project.
Ashley Woolley, of Scunthorpe, joined the campaign after being unemployed.
He said taking part in CatZero has helped him to gain skills and has taken him out of his comfort zone.

OFFICERS were called to two separate incidents on a major road in North Lincolnshire this morning as the force urges drivers to drive with care in icy conditions across the region.

DRIVER ALERT: Council gritters tackling icy roads as freezing...
MOTORISTS should take care on the region's roads tonight as temperatures are expected to drop to -3C in some places.
The Met Office forecast for the Yorkshire and Humber region says: "Clear and cold overnight, leading to frost developing and the risk of isolated patches of fog, and perhaps some icy surfaces. Some cloud could spread in from the north and west during the early hours of Tuesday."
