North Lincolnshire Council is seeking to "remove" three beech trees and an ash from a beauty spot.
An application for planning permission suggests "thinning to increase light by felling" at Baysgarth Park, on Brigg Road, Barton.
It says the trees have "outgrown their space, causing excessive shading."
